Cook Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic Swimming Teacher on a casual basis to join our friendly team at the Cooktown Community Swimming Pool.
About The Role
As a Casual Swimming Teacher, you’ll deliver engaging, high-quality swimming and water safety lessons to children and adults of all abilities. Working alongside our Learn to Swim Coordinator and Swimming Pool Team Leader, you’ll help create a safe, inclusive and fun aquatic environment that promotes lifelong water safety skills.
We Are Looking For Someone To
Deliver structured Learn to Swim and water safety lessonsAdapt programs to suit individual abilities and learning stylesCreate a positive, encouraging and safe learning environmentCommunicate with parents and carers about progress and programsPromote water safety and aquatic programs within the communityWork collaboratively with instructors, lifeguards and pool staffAssist with other pool duties when qualified and required
Essential
About you
Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent)Current First Aid & CPR certificationQueensland Blue CardExperience in teaching swimming to children and/or adults
Highly Regarded
Pool Lifeguard qualificationExperience in aquatic facility operationsStrong communication skills, patience and enthusiasmA genuine passion for customer service and community wellbeing
