The Role:
Qualified Chefs - 14/7 (11 hours worked) – Fulltime position – salary from $97,000 p/a - $103,000 p/a
- Provide breakfast, crib lunch, desserts or dinner service for residents on site (be able to work both night shift and dayshift on a rotating roster)
- Ensure food presentation, product presentation and meal service are to Sirrom standards
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation whilst maintaining minimal food wastage
- Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and front of house staff in line with client requirements
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Maintain a strict health and hygiene standards and systems in the kitchen with proper HACCAP procedure especially around freezing or preserving foods.
- Supportive leadership, mentoring, and coaching for kitchen staff
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Trade qualified with a minimum 5 years’ post qualified experience.
- Resume must show chef capabilities in either the Cruise ship industry or 5 star hotels or similar
- Hands-on experience with bulk catering,
including bistro and buffet-style service
- Candidates will be asked to show leadership qualities but be able to work in a team environment as well.
- Basic English Proficiency is a requirement.
- Solid skills in food costing, budgeting, ordering, and stock control
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Ability to maintain strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Friendly and considerate attitude to promote a positive work environment
To be considered, you must have or be willing to obtain:
- Chef Trade Certificate – Australian Qualification (Cert III in Commercial Cookery minimum)
- WA Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (preferred)
- National Police Check (issued within the last 1 month)
- Ability to pass pre‑employment medical and drug screening
- Valid C Class Driver’s Licence
- Basic English proficiency
