Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) is a leading defence capability partner delivering world-class defence solutions to support Australia's sovereign defence industry. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a proactive and highly organised Security Administration Officer to join our Corporate Security team in our Melbourne CBD office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate, final-year student or a Defence veteran / reservist looking to build a career in corporate security and the defence industry. Reporting into the Corporate Security Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting security operations, compliance activities, personnel clearances, and stakeholder engagement across the business.

About the Role

As the primary operator of HDA's Security Helpdesk, you will coordinate and process a range of security-related requests while helping ensure compliance with Defence security requirements and the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP).

You will work with internal stakeholders, Defence representatives, and external agencies to support secure business operations and maintain high standards of security governance.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide security advice in accordance with Australian Government security policies and frameworks.
- Manage and respond to Security Helpdesk requests, including visitor access, travel approvals, facility access, and security incident actions.
- Administer and maintain AGSVA security clearances and associated records.
- Support Defence security documentation, submissions, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain security registers and records to support governance, compliance, and audit activities.




- Conduct international travel security briefings for clearance holders.
- Assist with security awareness training, onboarding, and inductions.
- Liaise with Defence stakeholders including AGSVA, DSVS, CASG, and other relevant agencies.
- Support the delivery of security initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

About You

You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where confidentiality, accuracy, and customer service are critical.

You will bring:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A cooperative and positive approach to working with diverse stakeholders.
- High levels of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Desired Skills and Experience

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

- Knowledge of Australian Government security policies and frameworks, including the PSPF, DSPF, and ISM, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
- Experience or a genuine interest in Defence, Defence Industry, security administration, or government security environments.




- Exposure to the AGSVA security clearance process (highly regarded).
- Experience working with service desk or helpdesk systems (desirable).

Qualifications

This role may suit:

- A recent graduate with administrative experience.
- A final-year university student ready to commence full-time employment.
- An individual seeking to establish a career in security or the Defence Industry.
- A current or former ADF member transitioning into a corporate security environment.

You will also have:

- An undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (or be nearing completion).
- Completed, or be willing to undertake, the Department of Defence Security Officer Training course.

Security Requirements

This position is designated as a Security Assessed Position.

To be eligible, applicants must:

- Be an Australian Citizen.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance.
- Hold a current security clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process if required.
