About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Physiotherapist to provide high-quality physiotherapy services across a residential aged care facility in metropolitan Adelaide.
Working closely with residents, nursing staff and allied health professionals, you will play a key role in maintaining mobility, reducing falls risk, improving function and enhancing residents' quality of life.
This role offers autonomy, flexibility and the chance to build meaningful relationships with residents while making a genuine difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess residents' physical function, mobility and rehabilitation needs.
- Develop, implement and review individualised physiotherapy treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions.
- Conduct mobility and falls risk assessments.
- Prescribe mobility aids and provide equipment recommendations.
- Facilitate strength,
balance and exercise programs.
- Provide pain management strategies.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, lifestyle and medical teams.
- Support safe manual handling practices and staff education.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with AHPRA standards, aged care legislation and organisational policies.
- Promote resident independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
About You
You are a compassionate Physiotherapist who enjoys building strong therapeutic relationships with older people and believes in delivering holistic, resident-centred care.
You will possess:
Essential
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Experience working within residential aged care, rehabilitation, community or hospital settings.
- Excellent clinical assessment skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working with Children Check (if required).
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence (desirable if travelling between facilities).
Desirable
- Experience with dementia care.
- Falls prevention expertise.
- Manual handling education experience.
- Knowledge of AN-ACC funding model.
- Experience working within a Not-for-Profit organisation.
