The Role

As part of our continued national growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Electrician to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional workmanship while supporting, mentoring, and developing a team of electricians. Working closely with the State Trade Manager, you will play a key role in leading daily operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery, maintaining compliance, and driving productivity across commercial maintenance and minor works projects.

You will continue to perform electrical work while providing leadership and technical support to the wider electrical team.

Task and Responsibilities

- Work closely with the State Trade Manager to support the day-to-day management of the electrical team, including training requirements, licences and tickets, leave management, timesheets, paperwork, WHS activities, and recruitment/onboarding.

- Provide technical guidance and support to internal electrical trades and apprentices.

- Execute Facilities Maintenance project works as required.

- Prepare estimates, scopes of work and technical solutions for Facilities Maintenance and Minor Works projects.

- Mentor, coach and supervise electricians onsite,



ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with all WHS legislation and Modus safety standards.

- Coordinate and manage trade resources to optimise workloads and identify development opportunities.

- Ensure all Modus policies, procedures and operational standards are understood and consistently followed.

- Assist daily operations to ensure clear expectations, accountability and high-quality outcomes.

- Foster a positive team culture that promotes collaboration, safety, accountability and employee engagement.

- Perform preventative, reactive and breakdown maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial clients including Retail, Banking, Government and Petroleum.

- Deliver outstanding customer service and build strong client relationships.

- Complete service reports, safety documentation and job records accurately and on time.

Key Requirements

- Current A Grade Electrical Licence.

- Current White Card.

- Demonstrated experience in commercial electrical maintenance.

- Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Supervisor or senior electrician position (preferred).

- Strong leadership, mentoring and communication skills.

- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

- Current valid driver's licence.





- Ability to confidently use mobile technology including smartphones and tablets.

- Additional licences, tickets or certifications will be highly regarded.

- A National Police Check and pre-employment medical assessment will form part of the recruitment process.
