About Myxa

At Myxa, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling, independent, and meaningful life.

As a registered NDIS provider, we are dedicated to supporting people with disability, along with their families and carers, through personalised, person-centred services that maximise choice, independence, and quality of life.

Our mission is to empower every participant to discover their light and shine in whatever they do. We are committed to delivering high-quality supports built on compassion, respect, collaboration, and excellence.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated House Supervisor to lead one of our supported accommodation services while providing exceptional, person-centred support to a participant with complex support needs.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational management with direct participant support. You will lead and mentor a team of Disability Support Workers while ensuring services are delivered safely, consistently, and in accordance with Myxa's values, organisational policies, and the NDIS Practice Standards.

This position involves working a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster, including direct support shifts.

As you will be supporting a participant who is immunocompromised, you will be required to wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout each shift, including an N95 mask, gown or apron, and shoe covers. Applicants must be comfortable working in this environment.

This role is ideal for an experienced disability professional who is confident supporting participants with complex needs while leading a team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Disability Support Workers within a supported accommodation setting.

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service to ensure high-quality, person-centred supports are delivered.

- Provide direct support to participants in accordance with their individual support plans and goals.

- Collaborate with participants, families, guardians, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

- Implement and monitor Positive Behaviour Support strategies, risk management plans, and trauma-informed practices.

- Ensure participant documentation, progress notes, and care records are accurate, current, and compliant.

- Coordinate the induction, onboarding, and ongoing development of new staff.

- Conduct regular supervision sessions, coaching, and performance reviews.

- Address staff performance matters and workplace issues professionally and constructively.

- Promote a positive team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Manage incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions.

- Ensure Workplace Health and Safety requirements are met and actively promote a safe working environment.

- Complete roster coordination, reporting, and general administrative duties as required.

About You

You are a compassionate, resilient, and proactive leader who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disability. You enjoy mentoring others, building robust relationships, and delivering high-quality supports that promote dignity, independence, and choice.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- A strong understanding of the NDIS, NDIS Practice Standards, and person-centred support.

- Extensive experience supporting participants with complex support needs.

- Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies and supporting people with behaviours of concern.

- A sound understanding of trauma-informed practice and the ability to apply these principles in everyday support.

- Excellent communication skills, including experience using communication supports where required.

- The ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

- The ability to remain calm, adaptable,

and professional in challenging or high-pressure situations.

- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative leadership team.

- A commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and best-practice service delivery.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).

- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

- Current Medication Administration and Manual Handling competencies (or willingness to obtain).
