As the company continues to scale its manufacturing capability and introduce new products to market, they are seeking a Supply Chain Officer to play a key role in ensuring materials, components and supplier performance align with production and business objectives.
Your New Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities, supplier relationships, inventory control and material availability to support manufacturing and engineering programs.
Working closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams, you'll help ensure components, raw materials and services are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Raise and manage purchase orders for manufacturing and operational requirements
- Source and evaluate suppliers for materials, components and subcontract services
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times and delivery schedules
- Manage inventory levels and support stock control activities
- Coordinate material requirements to support production schedules
- Work with engineering teams to support new product introduction (NPI) activities
- Maintain accurate supply chain and procurement records within ERP systems
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Assist with demand planning and forecasting activities
- Support quality investigations relating to supplier performance and non-conformances
- Coordinate logistics,
freight and import/export activities where required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers
Experience Required
To be successful, you'll bring:
Essential
- Experience in a Supply Chain, Procurement, Purchasing or Materials role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong supplier management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience managing purchase orders, inventory and material planning activities
- Understanding of manufacturing supply chains and production environments
- Exposure to ERP/MRP systems
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Australian Citizenship or eligibility to obtain relevant security clearances
Desirable
- Experience within defence, aerospace, advanced manufacturing or engineering industries
- Exposure to Current Product Introduction (NPI) or engineering change processes
- Knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting and demand management
- Experience with international sourcing and supplier management
- Understanding of quality systems, supplier audits and compliance requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or a related discipline
