The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established operator in the resources sector, is looking to add a Project Engineer to their team to support delivery of a major site expansion project. This FIFO role suits an engineer who enjoys being hands-on across the full project lifecycle, from design through to construction and commissioning. You’ll work alongside the project delivery team, contractors and suppliers to help keep the expansion moving safely on time and on budget.

What the Role Entails

- Support the planning, scheduling and cost tracking of expansion project works, helping keep delivery on program and within budget.
- Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications and cost estimates for packages within the expansion.
- Assist with contractor and vendor management, including reviewing tenders, monitoring performance and helping resolve issues on site.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction and commissioning teams to make sure designs are constructible and issues are resolved quickly.
- Monitor work against safety, quality, time and cost targets, escalating risks and issues as they arise.
- Prepare progress reports and other updates for the project team and stakeholders.




- Support change management processes, keeping documentation and registers up to date as the project evolves.
- Help ensure work complies with relevant regulations, standards and the client’s internal systems.

What You Will Need

- A degree or trade-equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline (mechanical, process, electrical, civil or similar).
- Experience supporting delivery of projects within mining, resources or heavy industry, major project or expansion experience is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with procurement, contract administration or construction processes.
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple work fronts at once.
- Good communication skills – comfortable engaging with contractors, engineers and site personnel.
- A genuine safety-first mindset and interest in doing things better each time.
- A current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
