An exciting, newly-created role with a industry-leading organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their Finance team. This Finance Business Partner position will help provide insightful analysis into key performance trends that exist in order to drive the positive financial direction of the company. This role combines strong technical accounting capability with project leadership and process improvement expertise to play a key role in strengthening the organisation's financial governance framework. This role is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in the Sydney CBD 3 days per week (2 days WFH available).
The responsibilities
Reporting to the GM of Finance; you will be responsible for:
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls, governance frameworks, accounting processes and reporting for the organisation's joint ventures.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting; compliance with contractual arrangements and company secretarial and taxation obligations; and financial transparency for JV stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Financial Control function, with a solid focus on strengthening balance sheet integrity, enhancing month-end close processes and supporting major finance systems transformations.
- Provide Finance leadership and support for key transformation projects
- Support financial modelling for business cases
- Build effective cross-functional relationships with your stakeholders to influence,
challenge and execute initiatives; delivering business unit objectives
- Ad-hoc project work as required
The successful applicant will have
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a strong attention to detail, enjoy cross-functionally partnering with senior stakeholders and feel comfortable working in a changing, enhancing and transformative setting. Prior hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics365 will be considered advantageous. A chartered audit background (Big 4 / Mid-Tier) will also be highly regarded.
