This presents a great chance to advance your career in engineering and maintenance by joining a diverse manufacturing setting that encompasses agricultural, manufacturing, and power generation activities.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will assist in managing the engineering and maintenance department. Your role is key in planning, scheduling, organising, and executing maintenance tasks throughout the factory. Additionally, you will support the Mechanical Engineering Manager in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, improving processes, and managing budgets.

Scope of Responsibilities include:

- Provide technical direction and support to three Maintenance Engineers, each responsible for a major area of the factory and for the workforce supporting them.

- Provide technical support to the production department, including troubleshooting plant and equipment running issues and coordinating responses to breakdowns during the peak production period.

- Oversee the planning and execution of maintenance works for regular short, planned stoppages during the peak production period and for the annual major shutdown program of maintenance and upgrading works.

- Assist with monitoring plant reliability, including ensuring that a condition monitoring program is implemented.

- Ensure that appropriate resources are secured and allocated to complete maintenance activities

- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of maintenance budgets

Core Competencies:

- Proven skills and experience in planning and coordinating plant maintenance and upgrading activities associated with a manufacturing or similar operation.

- Highly effective technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to co-ordinate responses to breakdowns and to plant and equipment running issues.

- Effective leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to provide technical direction and support to maintenance teams and contractors.

- Proven ability to ensure Health, Safety & Environment procedures and practices are embraced and adhered to

- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate workplace meetings and to professionally prepare a wide range of engineering and maintenance reports.

- Proficiency in using computer systems and software, particularly Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), in particular SAP

Essential Requirements:

- Degree and/or Diploma-level qualifications in Mechanical Engineering

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with 3-5 years' post-degree experience to further their career and skills in a large-scale, heavy-manufacturing environment.
