Alumac Industries Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. This is a full-time position based in Caringbah, NSW. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining press brake machinery to produce precision metal components. You will play a crucial part in our manufacturing operations, ensuring that all products meet our high quality standards and are delivered on time to our clients. What you'll be doing
- Operating press brake machinery to bend and form metal sheets and plates according to specifications and technical drawings
- Setting up the press brake with appropriate tooling, dies and parameters for each job
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions accurately
- Measuring and inspecting completed components to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional tolerances
- Monitoring machinery during operation to identify and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions
- Performing routine maintenance tasks and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Recording production data and completing necessary documentation accurately
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and resolve problems
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and suggesting ways to enhance efficiency and safety
What we're looking for
- Proven experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of metal bending techniques, tooling systems and die selection
- Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards
- Sound understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting
- Basic mathematical skills for calculating angles, measurements and tolerances
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Relevant qualifications in machine operation or manufacturing (such as a Certificate III in Engineering or Machine Operating) are advantageous
- Experience with hydraulic and electric press brakes is preferred
- Familiarity with CAM software and CNC programming would be beneficial
