Junior Content Creator / Videographer – Automotive & Towing

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and reliable Content Creator to capture high-quality video and photography across the Harvey’s Group of Companies.

The primary focus of this role will be collecting engaging, authentic footage from our towing, transport, mechanical and workshop operations. The successful candidate will regularly attend our depots, complete ride-alongs with tow truck operators and capture real-world content from jobs, vehicles, staff and day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying current TikTok and social media trends and using them to create fun, relevant and engaging content featuring our people, vehicles and businesses.

This role may suit a junior filmmaker, film or media student, recent graduate, or someone with a genuine passion for photography, videography, automotive content and social media.

Key Responsibilities

- Attend towing, transport and roadside jobs to capture video and photographic content.

- Complete ride-alongs with tow truck operators and other operational team members.

- Visit each Harvey’s Group depot and business location to regularly capture fresh content.

- Film vehicles, equipment, workshops, staff, customer experiences and behind-the-scenes operations.

- Capture content suitable for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other digital platforms.

- Develop and film fun, engaging TikTok and short-form video content involving our staff, vehicles and operations.

- Monitor current TikTok, Instagram Reel and social media trends, sounds, formats and content styles.

- Adapt appropriate social media trends to suit the Harvey’s Group brand, audience and workplaces.

- Confidently guide or direct staff when participating in TikTok videos, interviews or other social content.

- Identify content opportunities without always needing to be given detailed instructions.

- Ensure footage is transparent, steady, properly framed and of a consistently high standard.

- Record interviews, staff commentary and job-related audio using lapel microphones where required.

- Safely operate camera equipment and drones where appropriately licensed and authorised.

- Organise, label and upload footage and photographs to Dropbox.

- Transfer content promptly to our online media team, who will complete longer-form editing,

publishing and broader social media management.

- Where required, create basic edited TikTok, Reel and short-form videos that are ready for review or posting.

- Maintain an organised content library so footage can be easily located and reused.

- Follow workplace health and safety requirements, customer privacy requirements and instructions from operational staff while attending jobs.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will:

- Have a genuine interest in videography, photography and content creation.

- Be proficient in TikTok and understand how to identify and appropriately use current trends, sounds and content formats.

- Understand what makes short-form social media content engaging, entertaining and shareable.

- Be comfortable developing fun content ideas and encouraging staff participation.

- Have a robust eye for detail, framing, lighting and storytelling.

- Be able to balance polished, high-quality footage with authentic and entertaining social media content.

- Be comfortable working around tow trucks, workshops, vehicles and active job sites.

- Be willing to attend ride-alongs and capture content in a range of locations and environments.

- Be confident interacting with drivers, workshop staff, customers and managers.

- Be reliable, organised and capable of working independently.

- Be proactive and able to recognise interesting content opportunities as they arise.

- Be proficient in Dropbox, online file storage and transferring large video files.

- Hold a current Australian driver licence and have reliable transport.

- Be flexible with working hours, as some suitable content opportunities may occur outside standard office hours.

- Understand the importance of confidentiality, privacy and obtaining approval before filming customers, vehicles or sensitive situations.

Previous professional experience is not essential. However, applicants must be able to demonstrate the quality and creativity of their work through a portfolio, showreel, TikTok account,

Instagram account or examples of previous photography and video content.

Experience with automotive, motorsport, towing, transport, workshop or business-based social media content would be highly regarded.

Equipment

Harvey’s Group can provide:

- Mobile phone

- Camera equipment

- Drone

- General filming accessories

Applicants should advise during the recruitment process if they require any specific equipment, software or accessories to produce suitable content.

Applicants who hold their own equipment are also welcome to discuss whether they prefer to use it.

Drone operation must only be undertaken by a suitably qualified or authorised person and in accordance with all applicable aviation and workplace requirements.

Employment Arrangements

This position will initially be offered on a part-time or casual basis.

We are open to creating a flexible working arrangement around the successful candidate’s study, existing work or other commitments. However, reliability, responsiveness and the consistent quality of the content produced will be essential.

The role will involve regular travel between Harvey’s Group depots and operational locations. The successful candidate may also be required to attend selected events, towing jobs, vehicle recoveries, workshops, community activities and motorsport-related opportunities.

Some flexibility may be required to attend jobs or events outside standard business hours when worthwhile content opportunities arise.

- Details of any camera, drone, editing or audio equipment they currently own or prefer to use.

- Details of any editing platforms or applications they are proficient in.

- Details of any drone qualifications or operating experience.

The quality, creativity and style of an applicant’s existing work will be considered more important than formal qualifications
