The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Centre Director to lead a brand new centre in Avoca, VIC scheduled to open in 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for an established leader to play a key role in launching a new government-owned early learning service and creating a positive, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment for children, families, and educators.
As Centre Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting educational excellence, mentoring staff, and fostering strong relationships within the local community. You will lead a dedicated team while driving a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and child-centred practice.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education or ACECQA-approved equivalent
- Current Working with Children Check
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Centre Director within an Australian early learning centre
- Demonstrated management and leadership experience in early childhood education and care
- Extensive understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework (NQF), Child Safe Standards, Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF)
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support educational teams
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with staff, children, families, and community stakeholders
The Centre
Early Learning Victoria Avoca is a new government-owned early learning centre set to open in 2027. The service will provide high-quality early childhood education and care, supporting children and families through evidence-based practices and inclusive learning environments.
The centre is designed to create a welcoming space where children can thrive, educators can grow professionally, and families feel connected and supported. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the establishment of a new service and make a lasting impact within the local community.
