We have an exciting opportunity for a driven, self‑motivated, experienced accountant to join our team. We are looking for someone who is client focused and team orientated.
As our new Accountant your focus will be to:
- Assist with the completion and submission of company, individual, partnership, trust, and SMSF tax returns
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual BAS/IAS returns, including reviewing work by Junior staff
- Preparation of financial statements
- Liaise with the ATO as required by clients and senior staff
- Provide taxation advice in communications with clients
- Assist with the preparation of cashflow forecasts, letters, business plans, correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed
- Ensure your professional knowledge is at the standard required
- Care for our existing clients
The following qualifications & experience are required to be eligible for this role:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Australian public practice
- A degree or certificate in Business or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualified
To be successful in this position we require the following skills and personal attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality work with high accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, open and collaborative working relationships through advising clients and team mentoring
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, schedule work targets / activities with minimum supervision to meet agreed targets
- Proficiency in IT and computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Xero and other accounting software platforms
- Self‑initiative and self‑motivated
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with client centred outcomes
