Job title: Vehicle Painter NOVA SMASH REPAIRS PTY LTD Location: East Perth, Perth WA Job type: Full time; permanent Pay: $80,000 - $95,000 Job description: We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Painter to join our team.
In this role you will prepare surfaces of vehicles, match and mix colours, and apply paint to restore vehicles to a high-quality factory finish.
Key duties:
Prepare surfaces to be painted by hand or machine, including removing rough spots and sanding surfaces
Mask areas not to be painted with tape and paper
Colour match and mix paints (by eye or using computer colour-matching technology) to achieve correct shade
Apply primer and finishing coats using spray guns, and sand surfaces between coats
Touch up paintwork and apply polish to vehicles
Remove masking papers and wax/polish finished paintwork
Paint signs or artwork on vehicles as required
Treat vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals
Maintain a clean, protected spray booth and work area in line with workplace health and safety requirements
Liaise with panel beaters, workshop supervisors and customers regarding repair/paint scope and timelines
Skills and experience:
Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology (or equivalent), or at least 3 years' relevant experience
Sound knowledge of spray-painting equipment and colour-matching techniques
Robust attention to detail and colour perception
Current driver's licence [adjust/remove as required]
Ability to work as part of a team in a busy workshop workplace
