About The Team / About The Role

The Information Technologyunit(IT)plans, buildsand runssystems that support Cancer Council NSW (CCNSW) to delivery its vision of a cancer-free future. The Modern Workplace Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving Cancer Council NSW's modern digital work environment — enabling secure, effective, and collaborative experiences for staff and volunteers. The role engineers and administers the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Intune endpoint management, Microsoft Teams&SharePointcollaboration; services, OneDriveandCopilotcapabilities.This role also supports in managing other line of business SaaS applications e.g. AvePoint, Exclaimer, Adobe Creative Cloud etc which includes configuration, integration, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and vendor liaison to ensure continuity, security, and optimalperformance.

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Engineer andadministercore Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams.
- AdministerMicrosoft Intune for Windows, iOS, and Android devices — including compliance policies, configuration profiles, applicationdeploymentand Windows Autopilot provisioning.
- Engineer andadministerMicrosoft Teams services, including Teams Phone, Auto Attendants, Call Queues, resource accounts, meeting policies, and Operator Connect / Direct Routing configurations.
- Support the configuration, deployment, and ongoing management of Microsoft 365 Copilot, andassistin designing and building Copilot agents using Copilot Studio (knowledge sources, topics, actions, connectors).
- Provide Level 2/3 Service Desk support, including logging, triaging, prioritising, and resolving incidents and service requests in line with agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Assist with Microsoft Purview data lifecycle, retention, and compliance configurations, ensuring alignment with organisational governance and privacy requirements.
- Support networking, telephony, and communications services asrequired, working within agreedtimeframesand SLAs to resolve or elevate incidents.

About you:

Essential:

- 3+ years relevant experience in a similar role engineering or administering Microsoft 365 environments.
- 5+ years' experience in customer service or client-facing IT support roles.




- Demonstrated knowledge and/orpreviousexperience engineering and administering the Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/orpreviousexperience with Microsoft Intune for device management (Windows, iOS, Android), including compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, and Windows Autopilot.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot anddemonstratedexposure to building agents in Copilot Studio (topics, actions, knowledge sources, connectors).
- Demonstrated knowledge and/orpreviousexperience with Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, MFA, and identity lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/orpreviousexperience with Windows Server technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in supporting users and computers in LAN, WAN, and Wireless LAN networks.

Desirable:

- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MD-102, MS-700, AI-102, or PL-900.
- Previousexperience in an IT support services environment and participation in an IT Service Desk.
- Experience in building, configuring, or supporting AI agents and AI-enabled solutions to improve business applications, user productivity, and service delivery
- Previousexperience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) for workflow automation.
- Previousexperience with PowerShell scripting for M365/Entra automation.
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (Essential Eight, ISO 27001).
