Role summary
Payroll Lead plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and on-time payroll delivery for a predominantly award/EBA-based, fortnightly waged workforce. You'll lead a team of payroll professionals, drive service levels and KPIs, and continuously improve payroll processes, controls, and governance.
About the role
Lead accurate, compliant, and on-time end-to-end payroll delivery
Ensure correct application of Awards, EBAs, legislation, tax, and superannuation
Lead and develop a payroll team of four,
managing workloads and service delivery
Strengthen payroll governance, controls, and audit readiness
Partner with HR, Finance, and the business to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
Skills & experience
Proven experience as a Payroll Lead or similar payroll leadership role
Solid working knowledge of Awards, EBAs, Fair Work legislation, PAYG, superannuation, and leave management
Demonstrated experience leading high-performing payroll teams in complex environments
Systems experience with SuccessFactors ECP and Kronos / UKG Pro highly desirable
