At The Social CliQ, we’re looking for a Social Media Strategist to help elevate our work across client campaigns and new business opportunities. This role is all about developing explicit, effective strategies — from responding to briefs and shaping campaign direction, through to supporting pitches and occasionally leading client conversations.

Based in St Kilda and part of the Merchantwise Group, we’re a social and digital agency working with brands across fashion, beauty, lifestyle and more. We’re a collaborative, energetic team that loves good ideas, strong strategy and work that delivers.

What you’ll do

Campaign & client strategy

- Respond to client briefs with clear, insight-led digital strategies
- Develop multi-channel campaign strategies across social, paid and content
- Partner with internal teams to shape ideas from concept through to execution
- Translate trends, audience insights and platform updates into actionable recommendations
- Provide ongoing strategic input to optimise and evolve live campaigns

Client partnership & project ownership

- Build strong relationships with clients through confident, strategic communication
- Lead or support client presentations, particularly around campaign strategy and one-off projects
- Act as a strategic point of contact on selected projects, ensuring clarity and alignment




- Translate client needs into clear internal briefs and actionable direction

Internal collaboration & strategic support

- Work closely with creative, social and paid teams to ensure strategic alignment
- Contribute proactive ideas to elevate campaign performance and innovation
- Help build strategic frameworks, playbooks and best practices across the team

New business support

- Support the development of strategies for inbound opportunities and pitches
- Contribute to proposal development and presentations where required

What you’ll bring

- 3+ years’ experience in digital strategy, marketing or agency environments
- Strong understanding of social and digital platforms including Meta, TikTok and Google
- Proven ability to respond to briefs with clear, compelling strategic thinking
- Confidence working directly with clients and presenting ideas
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A balance of creative thinking and analytical mindset
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach
