The Opportunity:

Due to continual growth across our business, Opt Hire is currently looking for a Field Service Mechanic to join our team based in Pakenham.

Any given day may see you…

- Respond to equipment breakdowns in the workshop and on customer sites as directed
- Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently to minimise downtime
- Inspect returned equipment – identify and communicate required repairs
- Complete pre-delivery inspections to ensure equipment is hire‑ready
- Maintain accurate service records, repair reports and parts usage
- Ensure all work is completed safety and complies with workplace health and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workplace

Here’s what we are looking for…

They must:

- Hold Cert III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or equivalent
- Hold Electrical Test & Tag qualifications – highly desired
- Hold a Forklift Licence – highly desired
- Have minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Have experience working within the hire industry – highly desired
- Have a sound knowledge of WHS
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, be reliable, and possess team player values
