The City of Fremantle is seeking a part time Public Art Coordinator to job share this role, managing the City of Fremantle artworks in public places portfolio. It will develop the Public Art Plan and drive delivery of the actions in relation to the City’s Strategic Plan. The role contributes to developing the City’s reputation as an arts and culture hub, a place that supports artists and is a leader in contemporary arts practice.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage the City’s Public Art Plan and drive delivery of its actions in collaboration and consultation with Public Art team.
- Develop and implement clearly defined public art policies and transparent processes




- Project manage public art projects including researching and developing the scope of the project, developing the expression of interest, coordinating selection process, commissioning artists, monitoring design development, fabrication, and installation of the work
- Develop and manage the conservation program of the City’s public art collection
- Build & maintain a positive network including with community, artists, local arts organisations, City staff, industry organisations, key funders, stakeholders, industry contacts, government and businesses

To be considered for this position, you will need

- Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building, demonstrated ability to broker exciting and high impact cross-sector partnerships and collaborations
- Demonstrated knowledge of collection management procedures and practices
- Knowledge of contemporary public arts practice in Western Australia
- Knowledge of current relevant conservation and interpretation practices
- Highly developed project management skills including arts administration skills, budget management, research, analytical and report writing skills
