ABOUT THIS ROLE
Kinexus is partnering with a leading Defence organisation to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager for a secure, long-term Defence sustainment contract.
This is an chance to lead a engineering team responsible for supporting complex Defence capability throughout its lifecycle. You'll play a key role in setting technical direction, developing engineering capability, and working closely with senior leaders to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.
This position would suit someone who enjoys balancing people leadership with technical oversight and is looking to make a genuine impact within Australia's Defence industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering activities and programs.
Drive engineering governance, quality and compliance within a highly regulated workplace.
Work closely with project, production and commercial teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Manage engineering resources, team workload and delivery priorities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote engineering best practice.




Build solid relationships with internal stakeholders and Defence customers.
Contribute to strategic planning and the ongoing growth of the engineering function.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Degree qualified in an engineering discipline.
Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams within Defence or another highly regulated industry.
Solid understanding of engineering lifecycle activities, including design, integration and sustainment.
Experience managing technical risk, engineering governance and design reviews.
Proven ability to lead people, manage competing priorities and deliver successful outcomes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working within Defence or other safety-critical environments is highly regarded.
Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
