Assistant Accountant | Commercial Construction | Immediate Start | Contract
An established commercial construction business is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a busy, collaborative environment where you'll play a key role in supporting month-end processes and financial reporting.If you're someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, project-driven setting and can hit the ground running, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role:

- Daily bank reconciliations and resolving reconciling items
- Assisting with month-end close including accruals, prepayments and general ledger reconciliations
- Preparing balance sheet and overhead reconciliations
- Supporting BAS preparation and other statutory reporting
- Assisting with monthly management reporting and financial analysis
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements
- Assisting with forecasting and financial reporting
- Working closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate coding and cost allocation
- Supporting the administration of bank guarantees,



bonds and trust accounts
- Providing ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

About You:

- Minimum 3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant position
- Previous experience within construction, engineering, property or another project-based industry is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes
- Experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- Jobpac or equivalent software experience
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- CPA/CA studying or completed, or a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
