My client has a single-rig RC programme kicking off ASAP and needs an experienced rig geologist on the ground to run it.
It's resource-definition drilling on a gold project in the Southern Cross area. The project geologist is already on site prepping for the rig's arrival, so you'll be walking into a well-run operation. Day to day you'll be supervising the RC programme and keeping the logging and sampling to resource-drilling standard.
The programme
- Single rig 5,000m RC programme
- Resource definition on a gold project
- 2/1 roster
- Accommodation and meals at Hotel
- Starting early August through to early September
What you'll be doing

- Managing daily rig activities - rig moves, hole set-ups, sample collection
- Working alongside the drill contractor and project geologist to keep things safe, effective and productive
- Reporting any issues, delays or safety concerns to the supervising geologist
- Logging RC chips to a high standard using Ocris Mobile
- Supervising the field assistant and all sampling activities - 1m sampling, Magsus and pXRF
- Keeping QA/QC tight and in line with resource-drilling standards
- Making sure logging and sampling data is captured accurately and submitted routinely
What you'll need
- 2 + years' RC drilling experience
- Resource definition experience, ideally on gold
- pXRF use
- Logging software and GIS
- Manual driver's licence and current First Aid
