We are seeking a skilled and experienced Boilermaker (Fabricator) to join the team at Coastal Steel Fabrications. This is a full-time position based in Somersby, NSW 2250. As a Boilermaker (Fabricator), you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of steel structures.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble steel structures according to detailed workshop drawings.
- Conduct quality inspections and measurements on your own work and others to ensure all work meets the requirements of the detailed drawings.
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
- Prepare steel members for fabrication and welding processes.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Follow all health and safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment.
- Maintain detailed records of work completed.
What we're looking for
- Formal qualifications as a Boilermaker or equivalent trade certification recognised in Australia.
- Proven experience in boilermaking and steel fabrication, ideally with a track record of quality workmanship.
- Advanced welding skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Experience operating fabrication equipment and machinery.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a workshop environment, including standing, bending, and lifting heavy materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
