Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for full time Bricklaying Apprentices to work with our valued Host Employers in the Northern Adelaide suburbs. This opportunity is open to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year apprentices.

As part of this opportunity, you will undertake a Certificate III in Bricklaying, where you will work with experienced and skilled supervisors to become a qualified Bricklayer.

As a Bricklaying Apprentice, you will learn to lay bricks, pre-cut stone, and other types of building blocks in mortar, to construct and repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures. Key tasks include:

- Read plans and specifications to identify materials, measurements, and installation requirements
- Seal foundations and spread mortar as a base for brick and block placement
- Lay bricks in rows, patterns, and designs, ensuring correct spacing and alignment
- Cut,



shape, and polish bricks and stones using hand and power tools
- Check horizontal and vertical alignment throughout construction
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on existing structures

Position Requirements

- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical.
- Hold a current driver’s licence.
- Have a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Be punctual and have a valuable work ethic.
- Be able to use initiative and work well in a team.
- Hold a current White Card (or be willing to obtain one prior to starting).
- Be physically fit and able to undertake manual labour.
