About the role

Cheeky Cherubs Preschool is seeking a talented Cook/Chef to join our team on a part-time basis in Wyoming, NSW. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, delicious and age-appropriate meals for our preschool children. As a Cook/Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the health, wellbeing and development of the children in our care, ensuring that mealtimes are secure, enjoyable and contribute positively to their learning environment.

Key responsibilities

- Planning and preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks suitable for preschool-aged children, adhering to dietary requirements and food allergies
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and sanitation in the kitchen in accordance with food handling regulations and best practices
- Managing kitchen inventory.
- Preparing meals that cater to diverse dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan and allergy-friendly options
- Working collaboratively with preschool staff to understand children's preferences and any specific nutritional requirements
- Maintaining accurate records of meals prepared and ingredients used
- Ensuring the kitchen environment is clean, organised and well-maintained at all times
- Supporting the development of menus that are varied, seasonal and educationally engaging for the children

What we're looking for

- Culinary qualification or relevant formal training in food preparation and nutrition
- Experience working in a professional kitchen workplace, preferably in a childcare, educational or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and allergenic food management




- Understanding of child nutrition and the ability to prepare meals that are both nutritious and appealing to young children
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prepare meals efficiently
- Working with Children Check (NSW) clearance or eligibility to obtain one
- A passion for cooking and a genuine interest in supporting child development and wellbeing
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with preschool staff
- Flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic, child-centered environment
