Join Meli’s Navigator program and play a pivotal role in helping young people reconnect with education, strengthen their support networks, and build positive pathways for their future.

Working with young people aged 12–17 who are at risk of, or have already disengaged from school, you'll provide intensive case management, assertive outreach and tailored support to address the barriers impacting their education and wellbeing. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll work closely with young people, families, schools and community services to develop meaningful engagement, coordinate responsive care teams and create achievable plans that support a successful return to learning.

About the Role

As a Caseworker, Navigator , you will:

- Provide assertive outreach, case management and tailored interventions to support young people aged 12–17 who are disengaged from education.
- Build strong, meaningful relationships with young people, families, schools and community services to address barriers to school re-engagement.
- Assess the holistic needs of young people and coordinate responsive care teams, care plans and education re-engagement plans.
- Collaborate with education settings and service providers to strengthen capacity and support successful pathways back to learning.

Position Details

- Part time, Ongoing position
- 0.8 FTE working 60.8 hours per fortnight
- $105,834 (pro-rata) p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We’re Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy,



and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

- Qualification or equivalent in Youth, Social Work, Psychology or Community Welfare (Diploma or higher) and experience in client service functions
- Ability to develop and establish effective relationships with young people and parents/carers
- Ability to form a sound ecological perspective of client circumstances, with minimal information to rapidly determine supports using appropriate tools
- Experience networking with schools, internal and external services in a collaborative and supported approach.
- Maintain a solid understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and actively contribute to a culture and practice that prioritises child safety
- Bring relevant training or experience in therapeutic interventions, trauma informed approaches, and/or working within education settings
