Role Description

The Mechanic Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Burton, SA. This role oversees the day-to-day maintenance and repair of a modern fleet of specialist vehicles and trailers, ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant, and operating efficiently. The Mechanic Supervisor coordinates and prioritises workshop activities, allocates work to mechanics and technicians, and monitors progress to meet operational schedules.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing mechanical issues,



approving repair methods, maintaining accurate service records, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards, liaising with operations and transport teams, managing parts and inventory, supporting continuous improvement in maintenance practices, and mentoring team members to maintain high performance and workmanship quality.

Qualifications

- Robust mechanical aptitude with experience servicing heavy vehicles, trailers, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
- Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience in a workshop or fleet maintenance environment.
- Sound knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices in transport and mechanical maintenance.
- Ability to plan workloads, prioritise tasks, and coordinate resources to meet operational timelines.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management systems, service documentation, and basic computer applications.
- Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Fitter, or equivalent) and appropriate licences where required.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations, logistics, and management teams.
- Experience in bulk liquid transport, dangerous goods, or similar industrial sectors is advantageous.
