Your new company An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a large and complex organisation undertaking a major finance transformation program. This long-term temporary assignment offers the chance to play a key role in a significant enterprise-wide financial systems project while providing specialist asset accounting expertise and financial management support across a diverse stakeholder environment. Based in Adelaide CBD, this role offers an immediate start and the opportunity to contribute to large-scale business and systems reform initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing professional financial accounting and asset accounting services
- Preparing journals, reconciliations and financial data files
- Investigating and resolving outstanding financial items and discrepancies
- Delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis
- Supporting system testing activities and validating financial outcomes
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives and financial systems configuration
- Developing and maintaining financial management procedures and work instructions
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and providing high-quality financial advice
- Supporting team objectives and supervising staff when required
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will possess:
- Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
- Eligibility for membership,
or membership, of a recognised professional accounting body
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, asset accounting and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, governance frameworks and financial management practices
- Experience preparing reconciliations, journals and financial reports
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information
- Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP and strong Microsoft Excel capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and adapt in a changing environment
- Experience contributing to process improvement and large-scale transformation initiatives will be highly regarded
