About the vacancy

Reporting to the Angry Penguin Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisors will ensure professional, efficient and flawless service delivery with a view to exceeding patron expectations. This role is responsible for assisting with the efficient management of Angry Penguin with consistent emphasis on quality, speed of service and presentation of beverage products, safety and hygiene. Restaurant Supervisors lead, motivate and train staff and have a proven ability to organise, delegate and communicate under pressure

In order to succeed in this position, you will have significant experience as a Restaurant Supervisor in a major hotel chain or sizeable restaurant operation and retain a Current Responsible Service of Alcohol badge.

Responsibilities

Prompt and efficient customer service within the restaurant, at the bar and during functions including by not limited to taking and delivering food and beverage orders, pouring and serving drinks, serving food,



clearing tables and processing transactions

Ensure Food and Beverage staff follow RSA and Food Safety practices

Act as the venue’s Responsible Person.

Deliver and follow briefing instructions.

Lead and train all staff to ensure a capable, professional, productive and well-presented team.

Liaise with clients throughout their dining experience and/or events to ensure their expectations are exceeded.

Resolve customer complaints with professionalism and courtesy within levels of delegation and be an escalation resource for Food and Beverage attendants and team leaders.

Competencies and Skills

Significant experience as a Supervisor in a sizeable restaurant operation

Current Responsible Service of Alcohol badge

Current Responsible Person Badge

A passion for excellent customer service and attention to detail

Hands-on approach with the ability to lead, motivate and train staff.

Ability to consult, collaborate and effectively communicate and provide advice to a broad range of people in a range of contexts.

Ability to work calmly and purposefully while under pressure

Understanding of wine, spirits and beer, including a good understanding of different wine styles, AFC’s product range, temperature wine should be served at; basic wine faults, commercial liquors and beer.
