On Track Recruitment Solutions are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join a leading rail maintenance operation. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee rollingstock maintenance activities, ensuring fleet availability, reliability and safety while leading a high-performing maintenance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with a background in rail, transport, heavy industry or other asset-intensive environments who is passionate about driving operational performance, continuous improvement and a strong safety culture. The role is initially based at Nowergup, relocating to the new Bellevue facility in early 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage rollingstock maintenance operations to maximise fleet availability and reliability.
- Oversee planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
- Drive compliance with safety, quality and maintenance standards.
- Lead, mentor and develop supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning and operations teams to optimise fleet performance.
- Monitor operational performance, budgets and KPIs.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement and a Zero Harm safety culture.
About You
- Previous experience as a Fleet Manager, Maintenance Manager or similar leadership role.
- Background in rail, transport, heavy industry, manufacturing or other asset-intensive environments.
- Robust leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing operational performance, budgets and KPIs.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Trade qualification or engineering background highly regarded.
- Understanding of Rail Safety legislation is desirable.
