Kangaroo Island Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse ready to join our team — and our island.

About Us

We're the only veterinary clinic on Kangaroo Island, which means our caseload is anything but ordinary. From companion animals to horses, livestock, and native wildlife, our 3 vets and 12 support staff tackle a genuinely diverse and rewarding mix of cases — no two days are ever the same.

Our clinic is fully equipped with:

- In-house pathology
- Digital radiography
- Ultrasound
- A fully equipped surgical suite
- Up-to-date hospital facilities

As the island's only clinic, our nurses get to use their full skillset , every single day.

The Role

We need a confident, capable nurse who thrives in both hospital and surgical settings and wants real ownership over patient care:

- Hospital nursing and patient monitoring
- Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring
- Emergency and critical care support




- Client education and communication
- Inpatient care and treatment
- Upholding high clinical standards

The Details

- 3–4 days/week (24–32 hours, negotiable)
- On-call roster: just 1 week in 5
- On-call allowance included
- Above-award pay , negotiable on experience
- Hours negotiable for the right person

About You

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Proven surgical and hospital nursing experience
- Sharp clinical skills and product knowledge
- Confident communicator with clients and colleagues
- Positive, adaptable, up for an adventure
- A genuine desire to become part of a small, tight-knit community
