three-month project focused on thescale-up and process optimisation of METASORB’s PFAS-free, ultra-durable barrier coatings.

Working directly with our technical team, the intern will gain hands-on experience across:

- Coating formulation and batch scale-up
- Improving process reproducibility
- Spray-application optimisation
- Testing coatings across aluminium, steel and polymer substrates
- Preparing samples for defence and industry feasibility studies
- Supporting the development of durable protective systems for marine, land and air applications

We’re looking for a postgraduate student with experience inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or a related field. Practical laboratory experience with polymers, coatings, solvent-based reactions or formulation development would be highly regarded.

Three-month project commencing from October 2026

$20,000 scholarship funded through DIN

Hands-on experience working on real defence and industrial applications

- Applicants must be postgraduate students at a DIN member university and Australian citizens or permanent residents. Some projects may require Australian citizenship.
