Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (GRAMS) is looking for a motivated Trainee Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join our Gascoyne Outreach Service (GOS).
This is an excellent opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who is passionate about community health and wants to gain nationally recognised qualifications while working alongside experienced health professionals.
About the Role
As a Trainee Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you will:
- Learn to provide culturally safe primary health care.
- Assist with health assessments, health promotion and chronic disease programs.
- Support clients in accessing health services.
- Develop practical skills while completing accredited training.
- Work alongside experienced Aboriginal Health Practitioners, nurses and doctors.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about improving Aboriginal health outcomes.
- Has robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is eager to learn and develop new skills.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Holds a current driver's licence (or is working towards obtaining one).
- Can obtain a National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
No previous health experience is required. Full training and workplace support will be provided.
