This is a 2 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency

The School

Waikiki Primary School (PS) is a government, co-educational public primary school located in Waikiki, a coastal suburb approximately 55 kilometres south of Perth, Western Australia. The school caters for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6 and operates as an Independent Public School, giving it greater autonomy in certain decision-making areas. Established in 2002, the school initially operated out of temporary housing made up of seven houses. In 2008, it moved into its current purpose-built facility on Arnside Bend, providing students with access to contemporary infrastructure and dedicated learning spaces.

The school typically enrols between 300 and 320 students. Waikiki PS has a defined local intake area, meaning families who reside within certain boundaries are guaranteed enrolment. The school places a strong emphasis on community, with active involvement from parents and caregivers through several community events, such as picnics and learning journeys.



Waikiki PS is also proudly associated with the Fathering Project and runs events once per term.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally be passionate, motivated and skilled Physical Education Primary Teacher who should be committed to improving learning outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches.

It is highly desirable that the successful applicant is committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. The successful applicant should possess a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
