Chief Engineers | Multiple Rotational Roles Available | Australia and South Pacific
Morris Nautical is seeking multiple experienced and professional Sole Engineers to join our fleet on a 2 off rotational roster aboard a 35 metre or 41 metre motor yacht.
With positions available aboard M.Y Northern Escape, a 41-metre Benetti exploring the pristine waters of French Polynesia, and M.Y Beluga, operating from Cairns before relocating to New Zealand and Fiji for a 2027 charter season, this is an exceptional opportunity to work across some of the South Pacific's most sought-after charter destinations.
This is a hands-on sole engineering role requiring exceptional technical expertise across all onboard systems, a proactive approach to maintenance, and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of safety, reliability and luxury guest experience.
About the role | M.Y Northern Escape | 41-metre Motor Yacht
Morris Nautical is looking for an experienced Y3 or EOOW Sole Engineer for a 41m motor yacht operating in Australia and the South Pacific.
This is a charter and private vessel, and the role will suit someone looking to build sea time and further develop their skills and knowledge.
This is a newly established rotational position, and the yacht is seeking candidates who wish to establish and commit to a long-term program.
Built in 2022, the yacht is maintained to high standards and requires strong housekeeping alongside solid engineering skills and knowledge.
- Accurate record keeping is essential, as the yacht maintains detailed records of her time since build.
- Powered by MAN main engines and Kohler generators.
- Shared cabin accommodation provided. Rotation is still to be set and is negotiable.
- Excellent references and evidence of longevity are required to apply.
- Must be eligible for an Australian Crew Visa.
About the role | M.Y Beluga | 35-metre Motor Yacht
Morris Nautical is seeking an experienced Chief/Sole Engineer (AMSA MED 1, Y3 or equivalent) to join M.Y Beluga, a luxury motor yacht operating in Australia and the South Pacific, with upcoming charter seasons in Current Zealand and Fiji.
This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all onboard systems, including propulsion, electrical, hydraulics, HVAC, refrigeration, generators and hotel services.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to maintenance and vessel reliability, supported by strong record keeping and use of planned maintenance systems and electronic logbooks.
Built in 2022, the yacht is maintained to high standards and requires strong housekeeping alongside solid engineering skills and knowledge.
- Valid STCW certification
- AMSA MED 1, Y3 or equivalent engineering qualification
- Current Seafarer Medical Certificate
- Previous experience as Chief or Sole Engineer on similar-sized luxury yachts or commercial vessels
- Shared cabin accommodation provided. Rotation is still to be set and is negotiable.
- Excellent references and evidence of longevity are required to apply.
- Strong commitment to safety and vessel presentation standards
- Must be eligible for an Australian Crew Visa.
