The Role

As an APS6 Learning Team Leader, you will lead the design and delivery of learning that enables frontline staff to perform effectively in a complex service delivery environment. You will manage a team of learning professionals and work with business areas to translate operational requirements, policy and system changes into practical learning solutions. You will balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery to ensure learning remains relevant, timely and impactful.

This role supports staff operating in quick-paced and at times psychosocially demanding environments, and contributes to building capability, confidence and resilience across frontline teams. It requires strong organisational skills,



sound judgement, and the ability to respond to competing priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the APS Level 6 Learning and Development Team Leader may include:

- Set priorities and oversee team performance, building capability to ensure the effective delivery of learning outcomes.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify capability needs and plan, forecast and schedule learning activities to support operational requirements.
- Provide strategic and operational advice on learning and development to inform decision-making and drive capability uplift.
- Assure the quality of learning products, ensuring materials are accurate, accessible and fit-for-purpose.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on learning outcomes (including mandatory training), identifying trends, supporting compliance and informing improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement of learning approaches by incorporating feedback, data insights and contemporary practices.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to support the delivery of learning outcomes.
