About the Position

Plaza Family Health located in Mt Sheridan, Cairns, is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our incredible team on a Part Time basis.

The clinic is conveniently located in the Mt Sheridan Plaza Shopping Centre, and is home to a team of professional GPs, supported by an experienced team of nurses and administrative staff. You will also have the benefit of working under the Better Medical umbrella of +60 GP practices across Australia.

Our clinic is open 8:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, meaning no late nights or weekends!

In this role you will:

- Deliver exceptional patient service at all times
- Participate in practice meetings and contribute ideas for improvement
- Efficiently manage patient data, appointments and follow procedures
- Provide a seamless service to patients whilst ensuring clinic operations, and Doctor workload is effectively managed at all times
- Process patients billings/receipts
- Assist Doctors with day to day administrative support and take an active part in working closely with other team members to manage daily tasks
- Function in a highly organised and time-efficient manner at all times




- Attend housekeeping in the Clinic and prepare morning/afternoon teas for our Doctors

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience in a similar role or transferrable skills, with GP Medical Reception experience preferred
- Skilled, friendly, confident, and courteous manner
- High work ethic and flexiblity to work across our clinic hours
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and prioritise
- Ability to work across multiple sites
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- High level of computer literacy
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a diverse team and independently
- High-level attention to detail
- Enthusiasm, willingness, and ability to learn and retain information
