Waratah Property Inspections is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Building Inspector to join our growing team in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands‑on experience in property inspection, compliance, and asset management.
You’ll be part of a friendly, high‑performing consultancy delivering expert compliance, asset management, and risk advisory services to property managers, government agencies, and strata groups across Australia.

Based in Pyrmont, we’re a small, high‑performing team going through an exciting period of growth. Our mission is to help clients protect their property assets, ensure safety compliance, and enable long‑term sustainability.
We provide cost‑effective, end‑to‑end building consultancy solutions to infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects, ensuring every building is inspected with care, compliance, and precision.
Key responsibilities
- Visit residential sites across Sydney to conduct thorough unit inspections
- Complete detailed reports using mobile software (ConnectTeam, SafetyCulture)
- Identify compliance or structural issues
- Communicate professionally with unit occupants when required
- Follow safety and reporting protocols set by the team
- Support the office with day‑to‑day administrative tasks when not on site, including answering phones, responding to emails, filing reports, scheduling inspections, and assisting with other general office duties as required
What you’ll need
- Valid Australian driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation
- Background in engineering, construction, or property inspection (or relevant studies)
- Native English speaker, with solid communication skills
- Previous customer service experience and confidence interacting with residents, tenants, and building managers
- Located in or around Sydney
- Own smartphone (laptop provided by the company)
- Comfortable using field software tools like ConnectTeam and SafetyCulture
- Willingness to support administrative duties in the office as part of a collaborative team environment
Nice to have
- Experience with strata or residential inspection standards

- Full-time salaried role — $55,000 per annum + super
