A Data & AI Governance Lead position is available within a leading organisation undertaking a significant enterprise-wide Data & AI governance initiative.

This role offers the chance to lead the strategic design, implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation's Data & AI governance framework, working across the business to establish governance standards, improve data quality and ensure AI is deployed responsibly and in line with recognised governance frameworks.

Working within the Data & AI Hub, you'll collaborate with ICT, faculties, professional services and senior stakeholders to embed governance practices, develop stewardship models and help shape the organisation's long-term Data & AI capability.

This is a 2-year fixed term contract.

You Should Have

- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise Data Governance frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and governance committees
- Strong policy writing, regulatory interpretation and risk assessment skills
- Ability to build governance capability across a large organisation

Technical Requirements

Must Have

- DAMA DMBOK v2
- Data management maturity models (DCAM, DMM)
- Azure Data Catalogue, Microsoft Purview or similar metadata management platforms
- Governance committee facilitation




- Data stewardship and ownership models
- Metadata management
- AI governance and Responsible AI principles
- Regulatory interpretation

Nice to Have

- CDMP or DCAM certification

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement and continuously improve the Data & AI Governance Framework
- Develop governance policies, standards and operating models
- Establish and facilitate governance committees and working groups
- Implement data stewardship and ownership models
- Lead enterprise data quality and metadata management initiatives
- Develop Responsible AI guidelines and governance practices
- Monitor compliance with Data & AI governance obligations
- Drive data literacy and governance capability across the organisation
- Align governance practices with DAMA DMBOK and HERM
- Manage the data catalogue, business glossary and data classification taxonomy
- Provide Data & AI governance leadership across ICT
- 2-year Fixed Term Contract
- Salary up to $150k plus superannuation
