Hawksman Technology is working with a leading proprietary trading firm with a focus on close collaboration, rigorous research, and cutting‑edge technology.

We are looking for an experienced Linux Systems Engineer to join a high-performance engineering team supporting ultra‑low latency trading systems. You will work in a deeply customized bare‑metal environment, building and maintaining tools that keep infrastructure lean, fast, and reliable—while enabling the broader tech organization to innovate securely and at scale.

Responsibilities:

- Build, deploy, and manage high-performance Linux systems supporting trading activities.
- Monitor system performance and optimize capacity to reduce bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across hardware and software boundaries.
- Design and implement intelligent automation to improve system efficiency.
- Develop infrastructure tools in Python and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code with Ansible.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers and software developers to ensure optimal system integration.




- Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.

Requirements:

- 10+ years of experience designing and supporting large‑scale Linux/Unix server environments.
- Deep understanding of Linux kernel internals and tuning for performance.
- Robust scripting/coding ability in Python with a focus on automation.
- Experience with high‑performance, latency‑sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with configuration management (Ansible preferred) and virtualization technologies.
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals and how they interact with systems infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- A proactive, curious approach to solving problems and embracing change.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior experience in financial services or trading is a bonus, but not required.
