Are you an experienced payroll professional ready to take the next step in your leadership career? MM Electrical Merchandising (MMEM) is seeking an experienced Assistant PayrollManager to join our National Service Centre in North Rocks.Reporting to the Head of Payroll & HR Services, you will play a key leadership role withina growing payroll function, overseeing payroll operations across multiple entities whileleading and mentoring a team of payroll professionals. This newly created position hasbeen established to support continued business growth and provide additionalleadership across a large and high-performing payroll team.
Key tasks of this role:
- Lead the day-to-day payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across the business
- Oversee payroll compliance, including award rates, minimum wage reviews, superannuation obligations and company procedures
- Manage payroll schedules, annual salary reviews,
profit share payments and month-end reporting requirements
- Partner with senior leaders on onboarding, employee payroll matters and issueresolution
- Lead, mentor and develop the payroll team, driving consistency, capability and high service standards
- Oversee employee payroll administration, including onboarding, salary changes, terminations and employee enquiries
- Maintain payroll processes and documentation, ensuring compliance with MM Standard Practice Instructions (SPIs)
- Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements and operational efficiencies across the payroll function
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a payroll leadership position
- Experience managing teams within a complex or multi-entity payrollenvironment
- Strong payroll compliance and reporting knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to coach, influence and supportothers
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience with Micropay and/or ConnX will be highly regarded
