- Institutional leasing, development, and off-the-plan matters
Our client is a full-service Australian law firm with a strong presence across Sydney and Melbourne, known for delivering commercially grounded legal advice to developers, institutional investors, government entities and sophisticated private clients. Their Real Estate & Development practice is one of the firm's core offerings, acting across the full property lifecycle on some of the most significant transactions in the market.
This is a well-rounded opportunity for a lawyer who wants genuine breadth of exposure rather than a narrow transactional lane. You will work alongside experienced practitioners on leasing, development and off-the-plan matters for a client base that spans major landlords, property funds, REITs, superannuation funds and listed property groups. If you are technically strong, client-focused and looking to develop within an established firm, this is worth a closer look.
The role will also require you to:
- Act for major landlords and institutional property owners on leasing matters spanning shopping centres, commercial offices, industrial estates, logistics facilities and build-to-rent developments.
- Manage off-the-plan sale files and support significant residential, commercial,
and mixed-use developments from acquisition through to settlement.
- Draft and review leases, contracts, correspondence, and settlement documentation to a high standard of accuracy and commercial clarity.
- Assist with acquisitions, due diligence, options, subdivisions, easements, and site-access arrangements, with exposure to joint ventures, property finance and stamp duty matters depending on experience.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to the broader team across a diverse and active property practice.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Laws or equivalent qualification and a current Australian practising certificate.
- Relevant experience in commercial property, institutional leasing, property development or off-the-plan sales gained at a reputable firm.
- Solid drafting, research and file management skills with sound knowledge of property transactions and conveyancing processes.
- A commercial, solutions-focused approach with the initiative and professionalism to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Practice Evolve or a Diploma in Conveyancing would be advantageous but are not essential.
