Role Purpose

The On-Premises and Cloud Architect will design, govern, and guide enterprise infrastructure solutions across on-premises datacenter, private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. The role is accountable for architecture, technical design, migration strategy, security alignment, operational readiness, and delivery assurance across infrastructure modernization and transformation programs.

Responsibilities & Requirements

- Define and own hybrid infrastructure architecture across on-premises datacenter, private cloud, Azure, AWS, networking, storage, compute, virtualization, identity, backup, and security domains.
- Design scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions aligned to business requirements, enterprise architecture principles, and technology standards.
- Assess current-state infrastructure landscapes and develop target-state architecture, migration roadmaps, solution blueprints, and implementation approaches.
- Lead technical design discussions, architecture workshops, solution reviews, and design governance forums with business, technology, security, vendor, and project stakeholders.
- Develop high-level and low-level design documents, architecture diagrams, migration plans, bill of materials, technical assumptions, dependencies, and implementation guidelines.
- Provide technical leadership for cloud migration, datacenter modernization, server refresh, virtualization, storage, backup, workplace, and network transformation initiatives.
- Guide engineering teams during build, configuration, testing, cutover, hypercare, and transition-to-operations phases.
- Ensure alignment with security, compliance, availability, business continuity, disaster recovery, monitoring, observability, performance,



and operational support requirements.
- Support infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD enablement, configuration standardization, and reusable architecture patterns where applicable.
- Review and validate technical deliverables, change plans, implementation runbooks, test cases, operational procedures, and production readiness criteria.
- Identify technical risks, design gaps, architecture constraints, and delivery dependencies, while recommending practical mitigation options.
- Collaborate with vendors and OEM partners for solution validation, product selection, sizing, licensing inputs, and technical escalation support.

Qualifications

- Strong experience architecting and delivering enterprise infrastructure solutions across both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Deep understanding of datacenter technologies including compute, storage, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and network infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, governance, and cost optimization.
- Experience designing hybrid cloud connectivity, landing zones, identity integration, network segmentation, workload migration, and operational management models.
- Good understanding of infrastructure security, compliance controls, vulnerability management, patching, privileged access, encryption, and resilience requirements.
- Experience preparing architecture documents, technical designs,



standards, patterns, migration strategies, and implementation guidance for enterprise-scale projects.
- Ability to translate business and application requirements into practical infrastructure architecture and delivery-ready designs.
- Solid stakeholder management, consulting, communication, presentation, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience working with project delivery teams, managed services teams, vendors, and offshore or distributed engineering teams.
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, ITIL, TOGAF, or equivalent are desirable.

Preferred Experience

- Datacenter migration, consolidation, modernization, or exit programs.
- Azure or AWS cloud migration and hybrid cloud transformation projects.
- Design of Azure landing zones, network hub-spoke models, identity integration, governance, and security controls.
- Virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent private cloud technologies.
- Enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, replication, monitoring, and observability solutions.
- Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar automation frameworks.
- Microsoft 365, endpoint management, server modernization, and workplace transformation initiatives.
- Experience supporting proposal responses, solution estimates, technical assumptions, and architecture presentations for customers.
