Reporting to the Director - People, Culture & Capability, you will lead the HR Services team and work closely with executives, people leaders and employees across the organisation.
This is an opportunity to lead a great team of HR business partners and payroll professionals delivering trusted, practical and high-quality people services across IBAC. You will provide strategic and operational advice on complex employee relations, workforce management, performance and conduct matters, and organisational change. You will also oversee recruitment and selection activities, support the effective operation of in-house payroll services, and drive continuous improvement across HR policies, systems, processes and service delivery.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the delivery of accurate, timely and consistent HR advice and activities across the employee lifecycle
- Managing, coaching and developing the HR Services team
- Building trusted partnerships with senior leaders and proactively identifying workforce trends, risks and capability needs
- Interpreting employment legislation, the VPS Enterprise Agreement, industrial instruments, policies and procedures
- Ensuring payroll services are accurate, timely, compliant, and supported by effective controls

About you

- Bring strong experience leading an HR business partnering service, with the confidence to provide sound advice, solve complex issues and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Enjoy leading a capable and supportive team.
- Bring experience in a public sector or similar operating setting.
- Bring previous experience in managing a payroll function, including an understanding of payroll processing, experience in interpreting the VPS Agreement and the development of payroll related reports.
- Bring a tertiary qualification in a related field.
Citizenship - to be eligible for employment with IBAC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
