About The Role
This Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner position offers a chance to deliver meaningful support to NDIS participants across community, clinic, and telehealth settings.
Responsibilities
This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for NDIS participants and their support networks through tailored, evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strong, collaborative relationships with participants, families, and stakeholders.
- Conducting comprehensive Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) to identify underlying needs.
- Designing and implementing person-centred Behaviour Support Plans that promote positive change.
- Providing education and training to carers and support teams to build capacity and confidence.
- Ensuring compliance with NDIS guidelines by reviewing and actively reducing restrictive practices.
- Collecting and analysing data regularly to monitor progress and inform ongoing support strategies.
About You
We believe that talented clinicians are developed and nurtured, not just found through an exhaustive list of requirements. With that being said, there are a few requirements for our PBS practitioners, which are:
- Endorsed as 'Core' or above against the PBS Capability Framework (evidence of letter of suitability from the NDIS Commission also required).
- Able to work Part-time - 3 days a week (0.6FTE).
- You hold a relevant bachelor's degree (e.g., Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Counselling, or Teaching).
- You have full Australian working rights (or pending).
- You have prior experience in community, private or acute settings.
- Have worked as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- You demonstrate sound NDIS clinical knowledge, with demonstrated experience in completing formal assessments and developing robust Behaviour Support Plans.
- You have access to your own vehicle and hold a current driver's licence.
- You have a NDIS Workers Check and have or willing to get a Working with children check.
