We have an exciting opportunity for a driven Warehouse Manager to join a dynamic and market leading Global Freight Forwarding & Logistics Solutions Provider. Experience in Contract Logistics & 3PL a must.
Role
Reporting to the State Manager, the Contract Logistics & Warehouse Manager should be proficient in providing the best possible service for all internal and external customers. Key functions of the role include:
- Manage all the facets of the Contract Logistics & Warehouse operation
- Supervision of various staff & ensure security measures are enforced on a daily basis
- First escalation for any ad hoc operational issues raised by clients on a daily basis
- Attend client meetings as required
- Ensure quality procedures are enforced and updated to the levels described by quality system (ISO 9001:2000)
- Occupational Health and Safety issues as required (Yard Traffic management, waste governance)
- Implement changes to and introduce new client processes and existing clients as required
- Ensure TMS (Time Management System)
requirements are completed weekly, on time
- Maintenance program for all capital equipment including forklifts, floor sweepers and pallet racking etc
- Ensure effective use of resources including stationery, consumables and warehouse machinery
- Ensure regular cycle counts are undertaken and stock-takes occur as per client's requests
- Ensure adequate training of new staff to enable integration into warehouse workplace and identify areas training may be required with existing staff
- Management of ad hoc projects as require
- Daily responsibility of freight management
What You Will Bring To The Role
- Minimum 3-4 years experience in Warehouse Management
- Exposure to contract logistics, 3PL, freight forwarding
- Quarantine Accreditation or similar experience.
- Good verbal and written communication
- Time management and ability to multitask.
- Excellent staff management skills
- Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained
