Careerlink People Solutions is proud to partner with Barossa Fine Foods to find their next Group Financial Controller. This is a rare opportunity to lead the finance function of a well-established, family-rooted South Australian food business and be a key voice in shaping its financial strategy.

About the role

Reporting directly to the CEO and leading a small finance team, you'll own financial planning and reporting, statutory compliance, financial risk and internal controls, and provide the analysis and modelling that underpins Barossa Fine Foods' biggest business decisions. It's a broad, hands‑on role that blends strategic input with day‑to‑day financial management.

What you'll be doing

- Lead, develop and manage the Finance and transactional accounting team, including workforce and performance management
- Prepare and present monthly and annual financial reports, budgets, forecasts and cash flow analysis
- Build financial models to assess new projects, business opportunities and investment decisions
- Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable, corporate credit cards, financial delegations and international payments
- Manage statutory reporting, annual audit, tax compliance (BAS, FBT, income tax, R&D;) and payroll review
- Maintain banking relationships and covenant reporting, and arrange finance facilities (equipment, trade finance, bank guarantees)
- Oversee insurance renewals, Work Cover, superannuation and payroll tax compliance
- Partner with Sales,



Marketing and other business units to identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities
- Champion continuous improvement and a performance‑driven culture across the finance function

About you

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting with CA/CPA (or equivalent) professional qualification
- 5-10 years' experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance role
- Strong commercial mindset, with a focus on opportunities and enhancing processes
- Demonstrated experience in statutory accounting, finance management and finance business partnering
- Proven ability to lead and develop a small, hands‑on team
- Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills (macro experience a plus)
- Comfortable working with financial software and emerging AI tools
- Experience in food processing, manufacturing or a similar industry highly regarded
- Excellent time management, communication skills, and the ability to perform under pressure and to deadlines
