Local Link Advocates x2 - Child Sexual Abuse Micah Projects Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia
Micah Projects is a community based not-for-profit organisation with a vision to create justice and respond to injustice at the personal, social, and structural levels in church, government, business, and society. We believe that every child and adult has the right to a home, an income, healthcare, education, safety, dignity, and connection with their community of choice. Micah Projects provides a range of support and advocacy services to individuals and families.
Help build a stronger primary health response to family, domestic and sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse through training, support and advocacy in an cutting-edge pilot program.
- Support workforce capacity‑building with primary health through training and education to improve integrated responses to family, domestic and sexual violence, and childhood sexual abuse.
- Ideal for those experienced in and passionate about working with victim‑survivors.
- Be part of a collaborative and innovative pilot project.
The Local Link program supports capacity‑building of the primary health workforce to enhance integrated and trauma‑informed health responses for victim‑survivors of family and domestic violence, sexual violence (FDSV) and childhood sexual abuse (CSA). This is achieved through the delivery of formal training to primary health services, and provision of a direct referral pathway for victim‑survivors for triage, brief intervention and referral. Operating in partnership with the Centre for Women and YFS,
we strive to ensure that clinics across Brisbane South PHN are equipped to recognise, respond and refer to FDSV and CSA.
As a Local Link Advocate, you will support primary health clinics to recognise and respond to FDSV and CSA through the provision of formal training and case consultations. You will provide direct support to victim‑survivors including risk assessment, safety planning, brief intervention, advocacy and referral. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative pilot project working towards systems change and sector capacity‑building.
