The primary focus of this role is to provide Hepatology clinical review for patients with chronic liver disease and timely post discharge clinical review.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Practitioner (Hepatology) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-solid team is on providing world‑class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide Hepatology clinical review for patients with chronic liver disease
- Provide timely post discharge clinical review for patients with a recent admission
- Co-ordinate outpatient paracentesis clinic and perform abdominal paracentesis procedure
- Participate in Departmental meetings, education and research as part of the broader team
- Work-up for patients referred for consideration of liver transplant and provide variceal surveillance
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- A Masters of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) or recognised equivalent (if outside of Australia) is a mandatory qualification for this position
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $157 579 - $164 519 per annum
